I bought the house from someone who had a vapor barrier installed in 2017 and they did a terrible job. I contacted Fortress because they were not that original company, and they did a great job re-encapsulating my crawlspace.

James and Thomas did a wonderful job with insulating and waterproofing our crawl space. They clearly communicated what they planned to do and listened to our inputs on the work to be done. We were particularly pleased in that they adjusted the sump installation to utilize an existing gutter drain at our request. Good price and less emphasis on a sales pitch than other companies in the area.

Jenna, Hannah and Sarah, I thank you ALL for being on the receiving end of the team. Sometimes the first or last person the customer speaks to and unfortunately sometimes, we as customers, can be a big pain in the butt! We don't mean to be, and most times are not, but it does happen! Always remember, if a customer is having a bad day and directs it at you, just let it roll off your back and bounce right out the door! It's never really meant for you! And keep in mind that we never really know what people are going through and they could be dealing with a lot outside of the job with Fortress. Just wanted to let you know what a positive experience we had withSkylar. My mother was concerned that the foundation under the porch was failing. Skylar checked it out and determined the foundation was solid and showed us (my brother and I) what the problem was. Unfortunately, he said it wasn't something your company could help with, but talked with us about some solutions. He also checked out the rest of the house foundation as my mother was concerned about it also. He was very knowledgeable and, quite frankly, we were impressed that he didn't try to rush off once he determined your company wouldn't be able to help us. Danny C, the System Designer that we worked with, was professional in every way. He had extensive knowledge of problem and had the perfect solution! Danny evaluated the problem, presented the solution in such a professional manner I did not feel the need to contact the competition. He recommended a total encapsulation of my crawlspace, including a SaniDry Dehumidifier, and Turtl crawlspace entryway. Troy, Jon, Kelly, and the many others involved in the structural project at my home, The work on my home has certainly been a process and more paperwork for you than I could have imagined. The final inspection has been approved and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you very much for your hard work. First I want to say how thankful I was to receive the information package and booklet with photos explaining the process. Being clueless to this type of work, I found it very helpful. In speaking to you and others on the Fortress staff, as well as through texts and emails, I was immediately struck by your professionalism and don't laugh, but your good manners as well (not often experienced in my line of work). When Troy came to view my home and provide the estimate, he immediately put me at ease. His knowledge and experience was evident. This was causing water damage to the items stored and rust on the HVAC and water heater. Another big problem was the musty odors so often associated with musty, moldy, wet basements. Fortress Foundation Solutions ran a full perimeter waterproofing system and reduced moisture from the walls with the BrightWall vapor barrier. Our SuperSump pump replaced the underperforming old pump they'd had and as a final measure, and our SaniDry air system keeps the house dry and the air clean and odor-free.

A homeowner in Monterey, Virginia had heavy mold growth and standing water in their crawl space. They called us here at Fortress Foundation Solutions to solve their problem. We got rid of all the mold with Mold X, and then installed a Smart Sump pump to to rid the crawl space of any water that would come in. This homeowner in Cedar Bluff reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions because the floors of their home had started to sag due to moisture issues in the crawl space. After calling Fortress Foundation Solutions, our System Designer, Paul Heckman was able to go out to provide a free estimate. Paul knew the best solution would be an encapsulation of the crawl space along with floor stabilization.

To resolve the moisture issue, Fortress installed a complete CleanSpace Encapsulation, a SmartSump Sump Pump, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. Our SmartJack System was installed to permanently lift and stabilize the existing beams and floor joists, lifting those sagging floors back to their original level! These products help to ensure a clean and dry crawl space with no more damage to the floor joists!
