- Cold floors in the winter
- High heating and cooling bills as they were continually heating and cooling the outdoor air which was making its way into the crawl space.

Repairing a Crawl Space in Kingsville, ON
Challenge: These homeowners’ crawl space was always damp and humid, creating musty smells in the home.
Solution: This home is in a low-lying area with a high water table. Here’s what we did:
We levelled the uneven ground and installed drainage matting which helps move water into the newly installed crawl space sump pump, the SmartSump™. To seal the crawl space from the ground and the outside environment, we installed our super heavy-duty vapour barrier and sealed to the exterior walls with spray foam insulation. The last part of the repair is installing vent covers and sealing the crawl space access.
What a transformation!

Crack Hidden Behind Drywall in Amherstburg Foundation
Sometimes homeowners are shocked to see what is behind their basement wall coverings, such as paneling or drywall. These Amherstburg, Ontario homeowners noticed:
- Windows and doors were hard to open
- Visible gaps between walls and floors and ceilings and walls
- Cracks in the drywall near window and door frames
- A slight slope in their floors
The problem? The scariest kind of crack: A horizontal crack and it was beginning to bow inwards.
We solved the problem with our The PowerBrace™ Wall Repair System.
In the "before" photo, you can see the tilt of the window frame is a result of a problem hidden behind the wall.
We secured steel I-beams to the joists above the wall with heavy-duty steel brackets. The system not only stabilizes the wall and can often be tightened to help return the wall to its original position. The PowerBrace™ Wall Repair System does not require any exterior excavation and can be installed within just a couple of days.

Fixing a Gravel Filled Crawl Space in Essex County, ON
Problem: Many homeowners believe that putting a layer of gravel in their crawl space will solve the water and moisture problems. This isn’t true and doesn’t work.
Gravel is porous and it does not stop water from moving or collecting.
Fixing a crawl space with a gravel floor presents two challenges:
-
It is difficult to dig trenches and create drains to properly direct the water out of the crawl space compared to dirt.
-
To further keep the humidity level acceptable and encapsulate the space, a very heavy duty liner is required, as the liner will be more prone to rips and tears with the rough gravel below it.
Solution:
-
Our experienced team members were able to create trenches and drains to effectively move the water into the crawl space sump pump.
-
Our CleanSpace®️ Liner is super heavy duty and durable enough to withstand the rocky floor encapsulated below.

Waterproofing and a Sump Pump Upgrade in McGregor, ON
Problem: These home owners were experiencing water penetrating into their unfinished basement. Their sump pump system was older, unreliable and contributing to an unhealthy level of humidity in the home.
Solution: Our team waterproofed the problematic walls, installed the ThermalDry® Wall system (which protects the basement from moisture and water as it passes through foundation walls – it serves as both a vapor barrier and as a way to redirect leaking water into the new drainage system). We completed the basement with the reliable and industry leading TripleSafe™ sump pump system.
This before and after is a great example of how all of our products work together for a dry basement. With regular maintenance, these home owners will never have basement water problems again!
