Needed some broken shingles looked, at called Brown Roofing, made appointment, and they showed up when they said they would be there. Jim went up on the roof inspected the damage and came back that same day to complete the repair. He said he had remembered that there were some shingles that matched mine at their yard. When he gave me the bill I thought how foolish I was to have thought this might be an insurace claim. He didn't charge for the material because he said it was waste from another job and the labor was very reasonable. Guess who I'll be calling when I have future roof problems

He told me to call my insurance company and he met with them went over the damage the claim was issued and my new roof only cost me $500.00 my insurance deductible. Brown Roofing Company of Naugatuck just completed tearing off my old roof and installing a new one. i would highly recommend Brown to anyone in the complex who is contemplating a new roof.
Brown's bid was the second lowest I received, thousands below the high bidder. Of the four bidders, only the Brown representative (a roofer, not just an estimator) went up onto the roof to inspect it. (I considered that telling.) He was also the only one who volunteered the number of squares involved and the cost of each square.
The contract was pretty specific, but when I asked the manager (Eddie Griffin) to alter it to include several things, he readily agreed. Brown was the only company that required no payment up front. "Full payment on satisfactory completion of the job" was written into the contract. This company has been in business for forty years and has confidence in the quality of its work.
Brown started the job when they said they would and they finished on schedule, as well (3 days). I've experienced roof replacement before, and this was by far the ost professional job I've seen. The crew was fast, efficient, thorough, and friendly. And it was a crew (aprox. seven men) not just one guy and a helper (which would have meant a week or more to finish the job).
Unlike the other bidders, Brown uses dump trucks to haul away debris, meaning homeowners don't have to tolerate a monstrous dumpster sitting in their driveways for 3-5 days. Brown's crew and their equipment arrived each day at 7:00 AM. When they left at the end of each day, everything went with around the house to indicate they'd even been there.
I suspect more and more homeowners in Steeplechase will begin to ponder roof issues as the years roll on. When they come to you for recommendations, I suggest you put Brown Roofing in the mix.

Our team took care of this home's leaky roof and algae-covered shingles. On the outside, the roof of this home seemed to be in decent condition but it turned out to be worse than we expected. After we got the green light to start working we ripped up the old shingles and took a closer look at the decking layer. In many areas there was rot and mold growth. This was caused by the old shingles, believe it or not, as they age they shrink due to wear and tear and this shrinkage causes gaps in between the shingles allowing for water to leak in. Due to the rot, we replaced the decking layer and once this was done we laid down Sealeron Ice and Water along with a Synthetic underlayment, this layer adds an extra layer of protection and also helps insulate the home. Finally, we installed our IKO Dynasty Frostone Gray Shingle. With this brand-new roof, this homeowner can be confident that there will be no more leaks or mold in their home.
