In Ground Pool Installation & Replacement

In-ground Pools, a beloved luxury

Pools used to be exceedingly rare, only found in hotels, spas and mansions for many years. Until the second world war, not many people had pools in their backyards.

Nowadays however, a pool is a common feature in yards around the world. A point of pride for many, and an investment worth making. For millions of homeowners, the obvious choice was an in-ground pool. A place to spend summer days, fun for all ages, and good for the mind and body. In-ground pools have been around a long time, with the first public in-ground swimming pool on record having been constructed in 1887. In all that time, there’s been a lot of innovation, allowing for many options.

Design your own backyard retreat with an in-ground pool install

There are pools made of concrete, vinyl, fiberglass, and gunite; a mixture of concrete and sand, all of which have their own benefits. Concrete is, of course, the classic option. For many years it was the only material for pools and it’s continued use is due to its durability, longevity and it’s freedom of design. With concrete, you can add virtually any feature to your pool, go any depth, size, or shape, and even add purely decorative flourishes to make the space truly your own. All these same features can be attributed to gunite, which is even more durable than traditional concrete.

As for fiberglass and vinyl, things get a little different. With fiberglass, the pool shell itself is a premade, single piece that is ready for install when it arrives with the crew. These pools come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and depths. Some additional features, such as heating and lighting can be added to fiberglass pools, but the real winning quality is fiberglass’s durability. A vinyl pool is composed of three parts--the thick vinyl liner, structural walls made of steel or thermoplastic, and a sand or concrete floor. With these pools, there isn’t any need to worry about cracking or discoloration.
