Why might you want a walk-in shower? The main appeal of a walk-in shower is the seamless and modern look it gives. Because there is almost no division between your shower and the rest of the bathroom, the whole room feels larger which gives it a modern and minimal aesthetic. This also makes it easier than ever to walk into your shower since there is literally no barrier, not even a door or curtain. This can be particularly useful if you have any sort of mobility issues.

While you might worry about water pooling because of the lack of a tub, a well designed walk-in shower will incorporate a very slight slope leading towards the drain. This slope is slight enough that it isn’t easily visible, but will still redirect water down into the drain. One downside to walk-in showers though, is the colder temperatures they may bring. Since there is no walls or curtains to collect steam, these types of showers tend to be colder than their enclosed equivalents.
