Hot Tub Installation

A brief history of Hot Tubs

Since the great Roman Empire, humanity has been seeking to emulate the natural hot springs of the earth, due to the belief in the healing properties of the water. In centuries gone by, there were the sumptuous bathhouses of Greece, Rome, and Turkey--and in the modern day spas, unique bathing and relaxation experiences would be offered.

In 1968, a man named Roy Jacuzzi invented the first-ever hot tub, and little about them has changed since he first patented them. The product took off immediately, with hot tubs appearing in homes and backyards all around the world throughout the 1970s. In those days the designs were especially wild and creative, much like the decade itself, finding hot tubs of the day made from brightly colored granite, marble, or encased around the outside in shag carpeting wasn’t uncommon.

More than just your standard hot tub option available today

In more recent years, the designs have become somewhat more elegant and refined, allowing for a timeless appearance, with materials like concrete and glass tiling becoming quite popular. There has also more recently come an option other than the traditional custom, inground hot tub. Newer portable models have become increasingly popular among homeowners who aren’t exactly looking for a construction process.

Either way though, whether you prefer the look of an integrated landscape, or simply want a hot tub to enjoy for all it’s wonderful benefits, the addition is still wonderful for any home. You can choose to boost property value if you ever leave, or pack up and haul your hot tub away with you when time comes to sell.
