Common problems with propane furnaces

• No Heat: If your propane furnace isn’t producing heat, it’s best to check the obvious first and make sure the thermostat isn’t broken or improperly set. If this isn’t the issue and your propane valve isn’t closed, you may have a broken fuse. Contact a professional to see if this is indeed the case and replace the blown fuse if necessary.

• Fan Won’t Run: Is your fan not turning on? This is generally caused by an issue with your transformer, control board, blower motor, or run capacitor. In some cases, it may be due to your breaker, which often indicates loose wiring or other electrical issues.

• Blower Won’t Stop: If your fan won’t stop, then there are two likely causes. The first is that your thermostat is set to have the fan continually blow. If this is the case, you can simply switch the thermostat to automatic and that should fix the problem. If the thermostat is not the issue, the control switch of your fan is likely broken and in need of replacement.
