Common reasons for portable air conditioning repair

• Not starting: If your portable air conditioner is not starting, the first thing to check is the power source. If the power outlet seems to be working and the circuit breaker has not gone off, then the problem is likely internal, often a blown fuse. Have a professional take a look to identify the cause and replace any broken parts.

• Low airflow: If your portable air conditioner is not producing much airflow, or any at all, then your filter might be clogged. If the filter is cleaned and the problem persists, the issue could be because of frost in the cooling/evaporator coils, debris, an overheated compressor, or depleted refrigerant.

• Not cool enough: When your air conditioner isn’t cooling enough, this can be a sign of debris in the air intake or exhaust hose. If this is not the case however, make sure the doors and windows are also closed. Is the problem still persisting? It’s likely the unit is either improperly sized or the ambient temperatures are too high.
