Common types of chain link fence damage

• Damaged Posts: If the post itself is damaged, then your fence repair contractor will likely need to replace it. They’ll remove the railing near the damaged posts, remove the post, and then install a new one in the same post hole. They will then secure the new post.

• Broken Fence Rails: Heavy impacts or severe weather can sometimes cause major damage to a part of your fence rail. If this is the case, your contractor can cut the wires holding the rail in place, measure the broken length, remove that part of the rail, and install a new fence rail in its place.

• Torn chain link fabric: The chain link fabric is one of the more vulnerable parts of this type of fence and could get torn due to severe weather or impact. In the case of mild damage, your contractor may only have to make slight adjustments. Although, if the damage is widespread, they might need to attach a whole new section.
